Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to receive guests until further notice. We hold you and your loved ones in our prayers daily at Mass during this difficult time.
We are also unable to receive new interns until further notice.

Guests gathering for a meal at St. Joseph’s
Hospitality is an essential part of our work at Our Lady of the Rock. In the Benedictine tradition we welcome guests of all faiths and backgrounds to find peace and stillness amidst their busy lives. Individuals and groups of guests stay in our retreat house and are invited to partake in the work and prayer of our community and farm. We do not charge for accommodations, but a nightly donation is encouraged.
- Come visit us for a day, a weekend or a week-long retreat for a monastic experience.
- Spend a day or longer in LABORA: working on the farm, cutting hay, building fences, gardening, feeding animals, or performing any number of needed tasks. Contact us about interest in an individual or group service project; we always have projects to be done.
- Inquire about becoming a six-month or year-long intern on the farm.
- Deepen your connection to God with us as we fulfill our ORA each day.
Our guesthouses can accommodate only a handful of visitors at a time. Therefore, we seek guests who truly desire to experience or acquaint themselves with our life and spirituality. If you are simply seeking a place to enjoy the islands, the monastery is not the right place for you. There are many excellent places for lodging on all the major islands.
If you are looking for an organized group retreat or a personal retreat where you can keep strict silence and solitude, we can suggest places within the Seattle Archdiocese where these are offered. As Benedictines, we like our guests to get a taste of communal life by sharing meals in common with the other guests and current interns at scheduled times.
Our diet includes meat from the animals we raise ourselves and we cannot accommodate special diets. Please consider bringing some of your own food if you are concerned of being unable to eat what we provide.
